New Addition and Renovation Project Update March 6, 2023
Josh and Rachel from Metrics Architecture, Jeremy from Emergent & Novak Design Group, and Dave from Burrington Group shared the draft of plans for the building improvements on Monday, March 6th. Our bond referendum was to remodel, repair, improve, and equip the Elementary School facility, including HVAC improvements; to build, furnish, and equip additions to the Junior/Senior High School facility, including a new gym and new space for career and technical education, with related remodeling and improvements, safety and security upgrades, and site improvements, including relocation of the main entrance and drop-off and pick-up areas.
So far, the best news is the bid for the elementary HVAC (heating and cooling) part of the bond project came in at 1.7 million from Bowkers. During the early bond referendum phase, it was estimated to be 2.2 million dollars. In the last few months, estimates ballooned to 3 million. Work at the elementary is scheduled to begin this summer depending on the availability of supplies and materials.
Once plans are finalized, they will be put out for bid. The tentative time schedule is for work to begin in late summer or early fall.
