Mrs. Priem's Homepage

Welcome! My name is Amy Priem, and I am excited for my fifth year of teaching as an Ed-Co Viking. My husband, Travis and I live outside of Luxemberg on our farm with our dog, Charlie. We have another farm outside of Elkport where we raise cattle, turkeys, chickens, and pigs. As a family, we love to play board games, especially Ticket to Ride, and cards. Together, we hunt and fish.  I enjoy spending time with my family at my parent’s cabin, hanging out, tubing the Turkey, and going on adventures with my nieces and nephews. Our son, Tyler, lives by Gurnee, Illinois. Our daughter, Chezney, lives in Garber. 

I attended the University of Northern Iowa, where I attained my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics. I also received my reading endorsement from Upper Iowa University. Since becoming a Viking, I have started the journey to learn about Whole Brain Teaching. I have been using WBT in my classroom for the last 3 years.

I am super excited to get the 2023-24 school year underway. I feel it is important to build relationships with both students and parents. It is together that we create a strong foundation for your child to have a successful year. In our classroom, students will be fully involved in their learning through choices they make throughout the day to become the best version of themselves. Students will be active throughout the day as they use all of their multiple intelligences to learn in the manner that best fits them.

I love to have parents/grandparents/special friends be an active part in their child’s education, so feel free to contact me if you want to visit our classroom, share your talents or expertise, or volunteer your time. We can’t wait to see you and have you be a part of our learning adventure.

This year is bound to be the adventure of a lifetime. Together, we can make the best of our situations and become stronger together. I am excited to have the students in class and work hand-in-hand with parents to help the students make the best strides in their learning that's possible.
