President’s Education Award Recipients 2018

President Donald Trump and Edgewood-Colesburg staff believe that honoring student achievement and commitment is important. With specific goals and high aspirations, we can encourage our nation’s young people to continue to achieve at higher levels.

The President’s Education Awards seek to honor students who meet challenging standards of academic excellence as well as those who have overcome obstacles to their learning. It recognizes achievement and hard work in the classroom while encouraging students to reach even higher.

Attached is the picture of the 6th grade Presidential Academic Award winners for this year. Two awards are given. Academic Excellence is given to students who excel in both reading and math on their Iowa Assessments, demonstrate grade-level proficiency on the MAP testing in all subjects, and meet classroom standards. These students were Dylan Bowman, Lydia Hemann, Campbell Kirby, Megan Pierschbacher, and Brianna VanGroll. The second award given is Academic Achievement to students who excel in one area of reading or math on their Iowa Assessments, demonstrate grade-level proficiency on the MAP testing in all subjects, and meet classroom standards. Theses students were Claire Aulwes, Marin Gaul and Jacob Schilling.

The students remind us that hard work and can pay off and that anything is possible with determination and effort. By earning this award, the students have set a path of high expectations and can inspire their peers to do so as well.

Congratulations to all the recipients!
