Iowa Department of Education Pilot Survey
As you know, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires state accountability systems to include at least one measure of school quality or student success. Iowa’s ESSA plan, which was developed through extensive stakeholder engagement, includes a valid and reliable measure called Conditions for Learning. This measure will involve annual student surveys regarding engagement, safety and school environment. This survey will be open this spring.
The Iowa Department of Education also needs to pilot teacher and parent surveys. Ed-Co is one of the chosen ones. On April 4th, eight to ten parents are needed at 5 PM that evening to take the survey and give feedback. Need a variety of parents- male/female, different career backgrounds, etc.
