Lindale Mall-School Cents
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe School Cents program is up and running again at Lindale Mall! For those of you that don't know what that is, it is a friendly competition between 15 area schools for $25,000 in cash prizes from Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids. There are a number of good activities involved with the program that earns us points (Hat and mitten drive, canned food drive, special needs trick or treat), but the easiest way to get point is by turning in receipts from Lindale stores and restaurants. There is a collection box by the fountain at the mall with each schools name on it. Simply putting your receipts in this collection box from now until December 31, 2016 gets our school points. The more points we get, the more money we will receive as a prize.
As members of the small communities we live in, we urge you to try to buy locally when at all possible. There are some things that are difficult to get here, so if you are going to go shopping out of town, perhaps give Lindale Mall a try. You can turn in your receipts and our local school can also benefit.
There will be two triple point weekend before the end of the year, so every dollar you spend is like spending 3 dollars for the competition! Keep an eye out for that information!
